Royal Project Fair returns

SOCIAL & LIFESTYLE

There will be more than 3,000 items of quality farm and food produce available at the "Royal Project 45 Fair" at CentralWorld, from Friday until Aug 17.

A variety of fresh fruits and vegetables from many royally-initiated projects will be on sale.

Held to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the notable Royal Project initiative of HM the King, the Eden zone on the first floor will be transformed into a modern supermarket layout where food from all Royal Projects will be gathered.

This year's highlights are highly nutritional produce such as microgreens, Japanese sweet potatoes and Japanese radishes and kaki. Selections of farm produce include vegetables, fresh orchids, foreign persimmons as well as Bresse chicken, trout, dehydrated herbs and brain-stimulating fermented teas.

Doi Kham will also present a rose-petal bread spread, mango and
passion-fruit smoothies, pink guava juice, a ginseng mixed herbal-honey drink and 100% fruit juices.

A variety of products from many royal-initiated projects such as the Support Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand, Chitralada Shop, Friends in Need (of Pa) Volunteers Foundation, Phufa Shop and Sai Jai Thai Foundation will also be available at several zones throughout the shopping centre.

The Fair will also display a variety of plant innovations such as Phalaenopsis orchids and Curcuma hybrid Laddawan. Those who wish to learn more about the royal initiative can attend an exhibition featuring information about new trends in the Royal Projects, such as innovative planting systems employing substrate material, the development of microgreens, experiments in Phalaenopsis planting and solutions to stop the spread of viruses in passion fruit.

There will also be daily cooking demonstrations by food gurus and chefs who will be using ingredients from the Royal Projects. Cooking sessions take place at 1pm and 4pm.
