The workers reached Suvarnabhumi airport at 1.15pm on Tuesday.

They were employed by Ferrostaal Industrieanlagen GmbH, a German engineering, procurement and construction contractor, which paid for their travel expenses from Benghazi.

More workers will gradually return this week as air tickets from the war-torn country are in short supply at the moment.

Labour ministry officials also registered them to help follow up on due payments and other benefits.

Each worker also got 15,000 baht in aid from a labour ministry fund to help Thai workers abroad.
