Reform council selection panels set

The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) on Wednesday formed committees to select members of the National Reform Council.

There are comprise a provincial selection committee in each province and committees to select NRC members in the fields of politics, local administration, education, national administration, law and justice, economy, energy, health and environment, mass communication, society and other affairs.

NCPO chief adviser Gen Prawit Wongsuwon is on the political selection committee; former army chief Gen Anupong Paojinda is on the local administrative committee; Visanu Krue-ngam, former chairman of the Public Sector Development Commission, on the national administrative committee; national legislative assemblyman Pornpetch Wichitcholchai on the law and justice committee; national legislative assemblyman Narongchai Akrasanee on the economic panel; former finance minister Somkid Jatusripitak on the social committee, and former Bank of Thailand governor MR Pridiyathorn Devakula is on the energy committee.
