Indian man found hanged at language school

A 37-year-old Indian man was found hanged by a scarf from the staircase inside his English language school in Pathum Thani’s Thanyaburi district on Tuesday morning.

The man was discovered dead inside the Smith English School of Languages at Passorn housing estate 4 on Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok Road in tambon Prachathipat. His death was reported to police around 9am on Tuesday, said Pol Lt Supachai Srisura, a duty officer at Pratunam Chulalongkorn police station.

He was later identified as Rajesh Singh, the school's CEO.

Police and rescue workers sent to the scene reported the dead man, wearing a white T-shirt and white trousers, was hanging by a scarf around his neck from the handrail of a staircase leading to the second floor of the house.

Police found a two-page handwritten farewell letter in his bedroom, written in English. He complained about money problems driving him to take his own life.

The housekeeper who discovered his body told police the man ran the language school jointly with his friends, but stayed in the house alone. He had lately complained about financial problems, she said.

Police said they would examine the purported suicide note and invite his business partners in for questioning.

The man's body would be sent to Thammasat University Hospital for post-mortem examination.
