Nguyen Thi That of the Vietnam National Team clinched victory in the first stage and swept all individual awards on Monday at the Women's Tour of Thailand 2024, which offers the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's Cup to the overall winner.

The first stage of the women's race commenced from Phitsanulok, passing through Si Samrong to Sukhothai province, covering a distance of 112.70 kilometres.

Nguyen crossed the finish line in a time of 2:51.37 hours.

The second position was secured by Thai cyclist Jutatip Maneephan of the Thailand Women's Cycling team, also with a time of 2:51.37 hours. Claudia Marcks of the Bikewheels.Com.Au Cycling team claimed the third spot.

Nguyen also claimed the Yellow Jersey for the overall individual standings with a time of 2:51.25 hours. Jutatip secured second place, trailing the leader by a mere 0.03 seconds, while Claudia Marcks took third place.

Nguyen also earned the Best Asean Rider award, represented by the Purple Jersey. Jutatip claimed second place, with Kamonrada Khaoplot finishing third. However, Kamonrada of the Thailand National team was awarded the title of the most Combative rider.

The Malaysian National Team emerged victorious in the first stage of the overall team classification, boasting a total time of 8:34.51 hours. Additionally, they secured the Best Asean Team Performance prize. The Bikewheels.com.au Cycling team claimed the second position, with the Thailand Women's Cycling team rounding up the top three.
