A goalless draw against struggling PT Prachuap at home on Monday night has dimmed Bangkok United's hopes of landing their first ever Thai League crown.

The result left the Angels five points adrift of defending champions Buriram United with only four games remaining in the season.

Prachuap have their backs against the wall, languishing in 13th spot in the table just one point above the three-team relegation zone.

Bangkok United coach Totchtawan Sripan made no effort to veil his disappointment after the match.

"It was a disappointing performance from the team. We had several chances throughout the match but could not convert them into goals," said Totchtawan, a former Thailand midfielder.

"Although we have missed the chance to pick up three points from this home game, we are not giving up the title chase.

"We still have a chance as we are five points behind Buriram and have four more matches to play. Anything can happen in football."

Everton Goncalves and Willen Mota wasted chances on either side of the half-time for the hosts. The Angels launched several attacks towards the end of the match but to no avail.
