The highly anticipated world title blockbuster between Prajanchai PK Saenchai and Jonathan Di Bella has been rebooked.
Di Bella now faces strawweight Muay Thai king Prajanchai for the ONE strawweight kickboxing world title he once held at ONE Lumpinee 68 on June 28.
The pair were scheduled to lock horns at ONE Lumpinee 58 this past April, but Di Bella fell ill and elected to withdraw from the bout. He was then stripped of his belt.
The 27-year-old remains undefeated in his 12-fight professional career to date, with nobody yet able to solve the puzzle that his speed and incredible fight IQ create.
Di Bella won the belt in an instant classic with Zhang Peimian in 2022. The Italian-Canadian's first defence was a hard-fought but unanimous decision victory over Australia's Danial Williams at ONE Fight Night 15 this past October.
Prajanchai, for his part, reclaimed the ONE strawweight Muay Thai world title for the second time in December with his ruthless one-round demolition of old foe Joseph Lasiri, avenging a 2022 upset defeat to the Italian.
With the win, the 29-year-old became the unified strawweight Muay Thai king after he won the interim divisional crown with as second-round TKO victory over Sam-A Gaiyanghadao in June 2023.
The Thai star has also demonstrated that his skills translate perfectly into the kickboxing rule set along the way.
A decision victory over tough Algerian Akram Hamidi in between the Sam-A and Lasiri fights showed that Prajanchai is not averse to the larger gloves.
In fact, Prajanchai is a former WBA Asia South boxing champion, and his greatest strength is arguably his punches. That skill set will serve him well in any discipline, and it's his educated hands that have been a feature of his five victories under the ONE banner so far.
But Di Bella shouldn't be underestimated in that department either.
The former strawweight kickboxing king is undefeated as a professional boxer, which sets the scene for an enthralling battle between the best strawweight strikers on the planet.
