Parrot Zik wireless headphones by Starck

Parrot, a global leader in wireless devices for mobile phones from France, along with world-renowned French product designer Phillipe Starck, have teamed up once again to create Zik wireless headphones. Combining touch control, advanced technology and sleek design, this fruit of another creative collaboration will redefine your listening experience. With four active microphones (two internal and two external), the active noise cancellation is definitely one of the best in its class, providing up to 98% reduction, eliminating nearly all external sound. With ultra-intuitive touch sensitive panel located on the right ear cup, you have easy control of the music you are listening to. Via Bluetooth, you can simply swipe up and down to increase and decrease volume, and forward and back to conveniently skip tracks. Also, a head-detection sensor automatically senses whether you're wearing the headphones. When you put the headphones around your neck, the music pauses and your call is switched directly to your mobile. And when you put the headphones back on, your music resumes. With "Parrot Concert Hall" effect, the sound is coming from directly in front as if you were listening to a live concert, instead of coming from the right or left side of the standard headset. With integrated NFC, you are allowed to pair, connect and play music from your NFC-compatible device with a simple tap to the Zik. And with Bluetooth, you can choose to control your calls and music directly from your device, manually or via voice recognition, earphone touch panel, or from Parrot's free Audio Suite App on an iPhone, while Bluetooth streaming is available with all Bluetooth-compatible devices. Equipped with two directional microphones and a Jawbone Conductor, the Zik captures the vibration of the jawbone and merges it with the sound of your voice for crystal-clear conversation. Being a tempting splurge for gadget and audio lovers alike, the Zik is retailing at Apple Online Store at $399.95 (about 9,424 baht). (store.apple.com/us, parrot.com)
Samsung EAD-R10 Pico Projector
If you are looking for an affordable projector, but the aesthetics of a smartphone with an in-built projector as in Samsung Galaxy Beam is not what you are really fond of, here's what Samsung has for you. Samsung EAD-R10 Pico Projector is a compact, neat and sleek projector with a figure of 60.4 x 116 x 11.2mm. That's smaller than the Galaxy S3. Linking up to tablets and smartphones (not just those made by Samsung, just to be exact) via a full-size HDMI input, EAD-R10 Pico Projector projects a 640x360 pixel image onto any available surface. Including a speaker, a button to control the focus and a battery that Samsung claims will deliver up to two hours of on-the-go use per charge, the image brightness goes up to 20 lumens, meaning users may need to find a dark or at least dimly-lit room and a clean white wall in order to get an image that's comfortable to view. That said, the idea of an affordable, decent portable projector is still irresistible. Unfortunately, the Samsung EAD-R10 Pico Projector is only available in its native South Korea at the moment, where it costs around 239,000 won (6,000 baht). (picoprojector-info.com)
