Nintendo bringing Wii U to New York Comic Con | Bangkok Post: tech

Both Wii U and 3DS consoles will be plying their wares at the New York Comic Con, October 11-14, with nearly a dozen games each and the new Pokémon Black & White 2 also in effect.

For the Wii U, releasing in North America on November 18 and in high demand according to retail chain GameStop, there will be a mix of mainstream and niche titles to sample.

Nintendo Land has the job of demonstrating the unique functions of the Wii U's tablet-style GamePad, in much the same way that Wii Sports did for Nintendo's last home console, and will be packed in with the Wii U Deluxe Set.

ZombiU is set to be another top attraction, benefiting from plenty of pre-release hype and included in Europe's Premium Edition package.

To Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge and Batman Arkham City Armored Edition falls the task of showing the Wii U can handle and improve upon Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games.

Nintendo favorites New Super Mario Bros. U, Pikmin 3 and Game & Wario will also be on hand, in the company of third party offerings Scribblenauts Unlimited, Rayman Legends, and intriguing prospect The Wonderful 101.

As for the 3DS, owners should expect a pretty good StreetPass haul as they mingle with fellow fans and check out a clutch of unreleased titles.

Awaiting them will be new Mario and Luigi games in Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, the cartoon jaunts of Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion and Adventure Time tie-in Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!, long-awaited puzzle adventure Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, and fashion business sim Style Savvy: Trendsetters.

Cute downloadable puzzler Crashmo (aka Fallblox) is sure to be a hit, judging by the success of its 2011 predecessor, and established favorites Kid Icarus: Uprising and New Super Mario Bros 2 will also be on hand.

The Wii U comes to New York two weeks after the Eurogamer Expo scored the console's first UK public showing at the end of September.
