'Sir, You Are Being Hunted' makes bank, releases gameplay reel

Tweedpunk survival game Sir, You Are Being Hunted having reached its relatively paltry funding goal of £40,000, fight-or-flight footage taken from the game can now be seen in a celebratory three-minute clip.

Dubbed 'tweedpunk' for its fascination with "survival, robots, sinister butlers, and hot drinks" in an uncanny British countryside, Sir... sees the player swap traditional roles, cast no longer as a victorious, chest-beating hero but as a pitiable flesh-bag human on the run, chased by an aristocratic robot class that hunts for sport in a randomly generated landscape.

It's an alternative turn on the sort of British sensibilities recently displayed by titles in the fantasy Fable series, by Stacking's light-hearted tale of industrialist woe and bravery, and Dishonored's excursion into a city inspired by pre-Georgian London and Edinburgh.

With the full game on offer for ten pounds sterling ($15 / €12), and various other rewards for those that stump up more than the minimum -- dedicated gravestones and monuments, T-shirts, even a board game -- Sir... has until December 2 to further fill its coffers for those additional bells and whistles: greater variation in the bleak landscape's buildings, more loot to salvage, and an increasingly likely multiplayer mode.
