PC download charts: 'Black Ops II', 'Assassin's Creed III', 'Hitman: Absolution' | Bangkok Post: tech

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is an instant hit with the PC crowd while Monday, November 19 sees pre-orders for Assassin's Creed III and Hitman; Absolution propel them upward ahead of release later in the week.

Black Ops II tops Steam's best seller list and does double duty on the GameStop Impulse chart, where both standard and deluxe editions hit the heights, but Hitman: Absolution's pre-release hype hangs in the balance after a mixed critical reception, many reviewers preferring the 2006 success Hitman: Blood Money.

Meanwhile, GamersGate and GOG returned to their roots, with GamersGate's chart stuffed with the Crusader Kings II strategy games and add-ons, while GOG ran a similar sale on retro war and strategy games.
