Origin, Electronic Arts' online game download and matchmaking service, is expanding onto Apple Mac with games like "The Sims 3," "Lego: Harry Potter," "Dragon Age 2" and "Batman: Arkham City."

It's good news for those who have access to both Windows PCs and Macs, as games bought on one platform will also be available for download on the other.
That's analagous to the Steam Network's SteamPlay feature and, like Steam, there's an Origin app for iOS that keeps users up-to-date with goings on.
Disagreement between the two services led to the removal of certain EA games from Steam, including "Crysis 2" and "Alice: Madness Returns," and the launch of others, such as "Star Wars: The Old Republic," "Battlefield 3" and "Crysis 3" on Origin only.
