The studio behind the creation of the "Halo" franchise has dared fans to decode a series of obscure images that require "distributed, synchronous effort" to discern their meaning.

A seven-day countdown points to a grand reveal on Monday, February 18, and each day two new images are released for analysis.
Given the "Destiny" theme of sci-fi combat, and Bungie's fondness for hiding symbols across its games and even franchises, it's likely that this community brain-teaser not only points towards new information about the studio's new franchise but also establishes its mythos.
Bungie had previously buried numerous references to early sci-fi trilogy "Marathon" within its five "Halo" games and even worked the then unrecognized "Destiny" logo into "Halo 3: ODST."
In 2004, another alternate reality game, "I Love Bees," acted as part of the publicity campaign for "Halo 2."
