Established in 1976, River Kwai Jungle Rafts offers a 'back to nature' experience on the River Kwai. The hotel comprises floating rafts moored on the river deep in the Kanchanaburi countryside, each room decorated with wooden furniture and bamboo weave wall reflecting the traditional living style of the area's Mon people. The rooms feature a bathroom and outdoor terrace. Wick lamps are used at night instead of electricity, to help conserve the natural surroundings and maintain the hotel's nature-based theme.
Facilities at River Kwai Jungle Rafts include a restaurant, bar and theatre in which Mon cultural dances are performed. Activities on offer include elephant riding, fishing, jungle walks, bird watching, canoeing, bamboo rafting and visits to the nearby Mon village. The 'river jump' is a popular activity at the hotel, in which guests jump off at the head of the rafts and float down the river to climb up again at the middle or end of the rafts.
River Kwai Jungle Rafts is reached by longtail boat transfer from either the Pakseng or Resotel piers, a scenic journey upriver of between 20 to 45 minutes. Vehicles can be left at the pier.
