Nang Rum Ruins was constructed as a hospital in Jayavarman VII's time, the last great king of the ancient Khmer (1121-1220 A.D.). This place was ran by auspices of Buddha Bhai-shajyaguru Vaiduryaprabha, the healer who gives good health to human beings. Nang Rum Ruins is a large place, but erosion has damaged most of the complex.
