Information
The Elephant Kraal Pavillion is located about 4km northeast of the town along Highway 309 in Ayutthaya historical park, Pratu Chai.
It was utilised as the royal seat to witness the elephant round up.
The Kraal is a huge enclosure made of solid brick walls in which is an inner wall comprised of huge wooden pillars driven deep into the ground to log in elephants. In the past wild elephants would be trained here to become war or transport animals.
In the centre of the Kraal is a temple which is a pavilion housing the image of Ganesha, the elephant headed Hindu God.
