The Wat Chaiwatthanaram is a spacious monastery located on well-kept grounds by the Chao Phraya River in west Ayutthaya. It was built in 1630 under King Prasat Thong with architectural similarities to Angkor Wat in Cambodia. The 35-metre temple prang (tower) is surrounded by a series of smaller prangs alongside a gallery of over 100 Buddha images.
