His Majesty the King granted royal permission for the use of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s name as Vajiralongkorn Dam instead of the former name of Khao Laem Dam. It is located in Thong Pha Phum in the Kanchanaburi province. It is the first rock fill dam in Thailand and it was completed in 1984, and it plays a crucial role in the agricultural and industrial sectors by being both a fresh water fish farm and a hydro-electric power generator for the people.
