Trat Independence Day is held at the Provincial Town Hall to mark the day the province returned to Thai sovereignty after French occupation by the diplomatic discussion between King Rama V and France. In the event, historical plays are performed. Local product stalls, exhibitions from state and private organizations, folk games and sports shows, music performances and other stage performances. Trat Independence Day is held in March every year.
