The Wat Traimit is a temple in Chinatown in Bangkok. The solid gold Buddha image is 15 feet tall, weighs over five tonnes, and is valued at over US$20 million. The image was designed in the Sukhothai style in the 13th century and covered in plaster, housed in an abandoned temple When the image was prepared for the move to Wat Traimit in 1955, the plaster cracked. People also visit Wat Traimit to know their futures using the fortune-telling slot machines on the temple grounds. The machines choose a number, you pick a matching piece of paper with your future written in English, Chinese and Thai.
