The west end of Sukhumvit Road, between Soi 1 and Soi 21 (Asok) teems with hotels for travellers with all kinds of budget and taste. For those who look for an inexpensive yet stylish place to spend the night, the Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok is a recommended choice.
As its name suggests, the hotel offers the level of comfort and service close to what you expect from its upscale sister brand, Sheraton, but at more affordable prices.
The two-year-old property offers 268 guest rooms and suites. The type I stayed in has an outdoor terrace in the back, which connects to those of adjacent units, making them a good venue for private parties.
The hotel has a youthful, casual feel. It’s like someone who’s always ready to whoop it up. The well-appointed rooms are modishly decorated and spiced up with brightly coloured items. My room was well away from the lifts and there was no issue with noise from outside.
As part of Starwood Hotels, the establishment has to follow the group’s environmental and energy saving standard. Members of the loyalty programme earn points if they skip room making. Guests who smoke in the room are subject to a fine of 5,000 baht.
