Phu wiang is both the name of a mountain and amphur in Khon Kaen. It was established to become a national park on December 8, 1991, becoming the 71st national park of Thailand. Dinosaur fossils and footprints were found in this park. Human skeletons, iron equipment, the sleeping Lord Buddha from the Thawarawadee Period were historical contributions of this park.
