Information
Khao Tanyong National Park is a project of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who spearheads projects in economy, education and culture tourism. Tanyong is a mountain forest reservation coveriing an area of approximately 720 rai. It was named "Ma Nao Bay Forest Park" and was established on April 21, 1993. A few years later the Director of the Royal Forestry Department at Narathiwat province proposed to re-classify the above forest park into a national marine park because of the beautiful white sandy beaches and overlapping rocky seashores. After a survey was carried out, it was agreed to establish the area as a national park and the area was thus named "Ao Manao - Khao Tanyong National Park".
