Bungborraped Freshwater Aquarium forms part of the Bungborraped inland fisheries park. Established in 1948, the park covers nearly 50,000 acres in three districts. The park is overseen by the Inland Fisheries Department, but private interests have been allowed to establish related activities near the park perimeter, including a large underwater aquarium.
