Information
This private museum of Thai art is owned by an accomplished artist-cum-collector family, and presents a warm and inviting atmosphere. The museum contains contemporary art, as well as rare ancient objects from the Ban Chiang era.
The golden teak house which holds the museum was built in the mid-1800s in Uthai Thani. To prevent the house from being damaged by floods, however, it was disassembled and moved to this new location, nearly 600 kilometres further north.
The collections at the museum range from picture portraits, landscapes and sculptures, to woodcarvings, silver work, pottery and lacquer ware.
