Information

This is one of the few remaining defensive structures of the ancient capital of Ayutthaya. This fortress is situated at the convergence of the Chao Phraya and Pasak rivers. This large fortress is thought to have been built during the reign of King Mahathammaracha following the loss of Ayutthaya to the Burmese for the first time in 1549.
