Doi Inthanon National Park is famous for its tall mountains. Doi Inthanon, which is the highest spot in Thailand (2,565 metres above sea level), followed by Doi Huamodluang (2,330 metres above sea level) is situated in this national park. Doi Inthanon is the source of many rivers, including Mae Klang, Mae Pakong, Mae Pon, Mae Hoi, Mae Ya, Mae Chaem and Mae Khan. The Bhumibol Dam, which taps the Ping River to generate electrical power, is situated in this area.
