The surveyed area is part of Nakhon Si Thamarat's Banthad mountain range which lies between this province and Surat Thani. The mountain range is a watershed, with most of the plains situated in the eastern part. The tallest peak is Keymode Mountain which rises 1,303 metres above sea level. The others are Khao Nang at 881 metres, Khao Wangpung at 600 metres, Khao Plaiclarm at 599 metres, and Khunhuaykaew Mountain at 582 metres above sea level. These mountains are the source of many streams which cascade down as multi-tiered waterfalls alternating with ponds. The limestone mountains provide beautiful caves such as Khaopubpa Cave, Tharnlord Cave and Suanprang Cave, for example.
