The Kok River runs from Thathon in northern Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai and then flows on to meet the Maekhong River at Chiang Khong. Within the city proper of Chiang Rai, there are plenty of places to sit on the banks and enjoy the view, including Pattaya 2 Beach, and of course plenty of restaurants.
