Pure bliss at veranda. Wish we had more time to explore the surrounding of Hang Dong area. The plunge pool villa was spacious and nicely decorated. Food was well priced but the choices was quite limited. We will definitely be back :) Thank you for a great stay.

This was my 4th time to stay @ the Veranda, and yet again was very happy with everything. Being a hotelier in Thailand my self, I have a habit of nit picking, but in general had nothing to complain about. Due to the location, the Veranda offers the true Chiangmai experience with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and lush greenery. Iv stayed in most of the 5 star hotels in Chiangmai, and the only one that come close is the Chedi, but if I had to choose, without a doubt it will be the Veranda! Thanks again, and see you next time.
Reservation service:
Nice and easy, but would be nice to have instant confirmation.

Hotel excellent - very helpful staff; lots to do. Infinity pool amazing with wonderful views and sunsets. Location ideal -especially if also wish to experience local Thai rural communities rather than be in a city environment. Good cycling opportunities and walks direct from the hotel - eg 999 steps up to an incomplete Wat. Extensive grounds/gardens of hotel well designed,(including rice paddies and tea plantations), especially as hotel only open less than a year. Two good restaurants on site at fair prices.
Reservation service:
Very efficient with rapid responses to queries - even over a weekend.

Hotel is a new 5 star house 20 km outside Chiang Mai. We enjoyed our stay very much although the hotel was still under construction (grand opening in the moddle of Feb. 08). The manager and whole staff were very friendly to us and made the stay unforgettable. The ambience and location is amazing beautiful, the rooms seduce to stay the whole day and relax. The food is delicious. Private dinner in charming rice storehouses possible. To make it short: We loved the stay and would always come back. A big thank you to the whole staff!
Reservation service:
Perfect. No problems. But: No remarks about the fact that hotel was still under construction.

Booked this hotel on 2nd December 2007 arrived at resort for a stay of 4 nights from 2-6th Jan 2008. Locals were laughing at us saying the hotel had not been built when I arrived at Chaing Mai airport. When we got there they we right building work was still ongoing a health and safety nightmare with holes and drops which is not child friendly. It was supposed to open on 26th Dec 2007 and is at least 3 months away from completion in my eyes. We were given 2 choiced to change hotel to either D2 or Shangri-la. We decided on Shangri-la as I ve had pleasant experiences there in the past. When we arrived and sat by the pool more drilling was occurring as they themselves only opened 26th Dec 2007 !! Eventually after contacting Management at Chiang Mai they put us in the Chedi which was a lovely hotel but not family orientated. I have been trying to contact the Veranda Chiangmai for compensation since 2nd Jan they are not replying to any of my emails. this has been a horrible experience for me my wife and my 2 young children being moved around hotels 3 times for a 4 night stay. All I will say is I m going to inform the tourism board of Thailand and hope that any other tourists do not botheer making a booking at such a hotel like the Veranda Chiangmai it is totaly unacceptable there actions and negative attitude to our complaints.
