It's not uncommon to see bicycles in TV commercials, even in ads for automobiles. It's not rare either to see non-cyclists clicking "like" on bike photos on Facebook or posting some on their own walls. Yes, more people are appreciating the aesthetic side of human-powered two-wheelers.
Arguably the most artistically appealing types of bikes, even for a downhill mountain biker like me, are the vintage racing and touring bicycles. Elegantly designed with arty details on both the frames and the parts, these gorgeous lightweight rigs from decades ago are rideable works of art.
And on Sunday, Dec 2, a hundred such beauties, some of them true masterpieces, will be put on display at the 4th Bangkok Vintage Bicycle Show taking place at the Wang Tha Phra Campus of Silpakorn University, a fitting venue for such an event.
