Remembering a naval battle

Until January 21, the 27th Koh Chang Naval Battle Day event will take place at the Koh Chang Naval Battle Monument in Laem Ngob district, Trat province, in memory of the officers who were killed in action during the battle with the French 72 years ago.

Activities include merit-making, a ritual for worshipping HRH Prince Chumphon, Father of the Royal Thai Navy, the release of marine life into the sea, floating wreaths from aboard the HTMS Narathiwat, an exhibition, a parachute show, a trade fair, concerts and local sports.
