From tomorrow until Sunday, Chai Nat province and the Tourism Authority of Thailand's Suphan Buri office will host the 28th Khao Taeng-kwa Pomelo Festival, in the Hin Riang area in front of Chai Nat Provincial Hall.
The fair is aimed at promoting the famous khao taengkwa pomelo, boosting the sale of farm produce, plants and handicrafts and supporting local tourism under the theme of creative economy. Since Chai Nat's fertile soil is suitable for all strains of pomelo, orchards in the province have become agro-tourist attractions for study trips. At the fair, activities will include pomelo parades from all districts, the sale and contest of pomelos, handicraft-making demonstrations and the sale of various kinds of trees and local products. After the fair, participants can visit local attractions, such as a bird park, a museum, the Chao Phraya Dam, Wat Khlong Makham Thao and nine other famous temples.
