Following a major renovation completed earlier this year, the 29-storey Hyatt Regency in Tokyo and its 744 guestrooms and other facilities now exude an ambience that's as good as brand new.

I stayed two nights in a View Deluxe Room of which there are 120 units, located between floors 21-26, each 33-square-metres in size with a view to Tokyo's landmark Shinjuku Central Park and its surrounds.
Designed in warm tones with brown cherry wood furniture for decoration, they look cosy. After the renovation, the shower and toilet are in separate cubicles.

Facilities include a working desk with chair, an entertainment system with 37-inch LCD television, a socket to plug in their MP3, in-room movies, a thermostat to regulate room temperature, an electronic control panel next to the bed for controlling lighting and curtains, and reading lights.
Other attributes include banquet facilities for 1,000 guests and parking for more than 500 cars.
