Defending champions Buriram United moved a step closer to the Thai League 1 title with a 2-0 victory over Nakhon Pathom United on Saturday night.

The Thunder Castle got their goals in the second half when Lucas Crispim (51) and Guilherme Bissoli (75) scored.

Buriram head coach Jorginho was pleased with his team's performance and welcomed the three points.

"It was an important game us. We started well but missed a lot of chances in the first half," said the Brazilian.

"We did even better after the break and scored the goals to close the game. I am very happy with the victory.

"We still can't say that we will win the title so we have to keep putting in our best and win our remaining three matches."

Also on Saturday night, Muang Thong United thrashed Sukhothai 5-0.

The Kirins had goals from Poramet Arjvilai in the 13th minute, Kakana Khamyok after 17 minutes, Tristan Do in the 66th minute, Willian Popp on 75 minutes and Stefan Scepovic six minutes from time.

At Boonyajinda Stadium, bottom-placed Police Tero could only pick up a point after a scoreless draw with Chiang Rai United.
