When Elton John sang "I think it's going to be a long, long time" on Rocket Man in 1972, he probably had no idea how right he was. Now, 40 years later, he is still singing one of his most popular hits.

The 40th anniversary is the reason for his latest world tour, which comes to Bangkok on Dec 13. After his first concert here 11 years ago, the British musical legend is ready to meet his fans in Thailand again. The one-night-only concert will be Sir Elton's last stop in Asia as part of the the tour.

The 65-year-old singer-songwriter, pianist and composer has released more than 30 albums and sold more than 250 million records. His hit Candle In The Wind 1997 is the top-selling single in the history of the Billboard charts and sold more than 37 million copies worldwide. The single Rocket Man (I Think It's Going To Be A Long, Long Time) was a long-standing top 10 hit in both the UK and US when it was released in April 1972. The concert's opening act will be 2Cellos, the Croatian cello duo of Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser.

The event will be held on Dec 13 at 8pm from Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani. Tickets cost 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 baht with a gold package set at 6,000 baht and are available at all counters of Thai Ticket Major or via www.thaiticketmajor.com.
