Thailand's 17-year-old Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak secured third position recently at the inaugural round of the new Formula Regional Middle East Championship Certified by FIA (FRMEC).

The first race winner was Ferrari Driver Academy prospect Dino Beganovic from Sweden. Nikhil Bohra from Singapore took advantage of the reverse grid position to win in race two.

In the final race, Tasanapol secured the third grid start position. Rafael Camara from Brazil jumped ahead of Tasanapol at the start, but the Thai wasted little time moving back ahead of the Brazilian. As with the leading pair, Tasanapol secured third position with a solid race to take the honours for Thailand.

After the first round of three races, Tasanapol stands in 8th position in the championship.

Tasanapol has almost 10 years of experience in both kart and F4 races and decided to participate in the Formula Regional Asian Championship 2023 Certified by FIA under Pinnacle Motorsport. He drives car No.14 with AAS Motorsport by AAS Auto Service and CTI Logistics as the main sponsor and After You, RPM, Dhipaya insurance and Plan B Media as co-sponsors throughout the season.

The next race weekend round will be held in Kuwait from Jan 29-30.
