Brunei Times closes, 130 jobs to go

The Brunei Times is closing after 10 years, the compact broadsheet newspaper announced on its front page Sunday.

Monday's edition of the English language daily would be the last, it said.

The paper was offered for free until July 16, after earlier downsizing to a compact tabloid format.

The closure is likely to result in the loss of up to 130 jobs.

Its website and social media outlets carried no word of the closure.
