Krungthai lends B3.5bn to flood-hit SMEs

Krungthai Bank (KTB) will extend 3.5-billion-baht loans with relaxed terms to small and medium-sized enterprises affected by southern flooding for their business rehabilitation.

KTB executive vice-president Pativate Santavanond said on Wednesday that the bank would lend 2 billion baht to medium-sized and large SMEs and 1.5 billion to small ones.

Interest would be 3.75% in the first year and repayment periods were set at up to five years for medium-sized and large SMEs and seven years for small ones.

For those of them who are its old customers, KTB will charge lower interest rates, extend repayment periods, suspend principal repayment and waive interest for late repayments of not more than 30 days, he said.
