Coro Field plans to open three outlets

Coro Brothers Co, operator of the Coro Field organic farm in Ratchaburi, plans to open three restaurants to cater to the health-conscious crowd in Bangkok.

Co-founder Mitdanai Sathavonmanee shows off a melon grown at the farm.

Co-founder Mitdanai Sathavonmanee said the three restaurants would be located in CentralWorld, Mega Bangna and the Esplanade shopping complex on Ratchadapisek Road. The three outlets, which represent a total investment of 15 million baht, will open in 2018.

"Bangkok residents are looking for chemical-free foods and drinks. We aim to capitalise on the opportunity this demand creates," Mr Mitdanai said.

Coro Field, in Suan Phueng district of Ratchaburi, will supply organic produce to the new restaurants.

The company inaugurated Coro Harvest, its first restaurant in the Bangkok market, this year at the Esplanade. The outlet allowed the company to test the waters before expanding further.

Mr Mitdanai said Coro Field generated 25 million baht in revenue for the company last year, which is expected to rise to 30 million this year. Coro Harvest restaurant expects to bring in revenue of 18 million baht this year.

Coro Field opened in 2015 as a Japanese-style farm. It attracts 50-200 visitors a day in the low season, and 1,000-5,000 visitors daily during high season.

This year the company will focus on foreign tourists interested in agriculture and health. Farm visitors can see fresh melons in the greenhouse, enjoy a salad prepared with green and red oak leaves, and taste organic foods and drinks, said Mr Mitdanai.
