Asset Plus Fund Management Company Limited is launching a new open-end fund "ASP-ROBOT", the first mutual fund investing in global robotics and artificial intelligence (A.I.) industry, especially in the stocks of robotics and A.I. manufacturers and also the companies utilising these two innovations to operate its business. The initial public offering (IPO) for ASP-ROBOT is open to subscriptions from 21 August and 1 September 2017. The fund is primarily focused on investing in AXA World Funds Framlington Robotech managed by the multinational asset management company, AXA Investment Managers.

According to Mr. Ratch Sodsatit, Managing Director of Asset Plus, the global robotics and A.I. market has been growing considerably since 2014, and is expected to continue growing approximately 10%-15% annually through 2025. Hence, ASP-ROBOT fund launch is the investment choice for investors with high risk appetite who expect high returns from this industry growth in the long run.
During the IPO period, the front end fee is reduced to 1.0% from the usual 1.5%. The minimum amount an investor can buy during the IPO is 5,000 baht. Those who maintain the funding for more than six months (between IPO period until 28 February 2018) will be rewarded 2,000 baht worth of ASP fund units for every 1 million baht they invest.
ASP-ROBOT is an equity fund with a risk level of 6 and fully hedged against foreign exchange. The fund invests primarily in AXA World Funds Framlington Robotech. Prominent features of this fund include its proactive investment strategy and flexible investment framework. Moreover, it is managed by those specialised in Robotics & A.I. listings on stock markets who use fundamentals-based and bottom-up stock selection strategies. The Robotics & A.I. industries which AXA is focusing on are automatic machines, autonomous vehicles, medical and healthcare technologies, and integrated technologies.
"ASP-ROBOT is the first Thai mutual fund to focus on investing in Robotics and A.I. sectors which have the potential to grow dramatically. Due to relentless innovations and technologies and the global demography which is turning into an aging society, this market is expected to continue growing 10%-15% annually through 2025. Therefore, this is a good opportunity for investors to participate in this industry at a relatively early stage in order to collect significant returns from this up-and-coming trend," said Mr. Ratch.
