Kerry Express Thailand doubled the number of service locations in the first half of 2019, opening its 10,000th station in August.

Alex Ng, chief executive of Kerry Express, said the company was able to expand despite weak consumer sentiment and the economy in Thailand.

As of this month, Kerry employs more than 22,000 full-time staff and has a fleet of more than 20,000 vehicles across 1,300 distribution centres.

"We keep a fast pace to expand our network, recruit better people and maintain the country's best service level. We look towards the very long term," Mr Ng said.

Kerry Express is already preparing to boost capacity over the next three years, to meet the growing popularity of e-commerce and related sectors.

"Kerry Express is serious about service quality, and quality comes with long-term planning," he said.

"Our people are already looking at 2021-22."

The company began in 2006 and has since become the leading delivery company in Thailand. In 2015, they were the first to launch same-day delivery service in Bangkok.

Last year, the company started to accept PromptPay on delivery for parcels that are sent to households.

The company also pioneered accepting Rabbit LinePay for deliveries sent to households.
