Yesterday's replacement of two co-presidents at True Corporation should have no bearing on operations, says an executive at the company who requested anonymity.

The move is seen as a step in preparing for 5G adoption, the source said.

According to the company's announcement yesterday, Anat Mekpaiboonvatana, senior group managing director of regional management, and Sarit Jinnasith, chief operating officer and chief regulatory officer, were appointed as co-presidents.

The appointments are meant to "strengthen the company's business operations", the firm said.

The pair replaced Kittinut Tikawan and Siripoj Kunakornphan, who were in turn appointed to the executive committee in charge of driving the company's strategies, effective yesterday.

The source said the replacements will not hinder the company's operations, as the new co-presidents have been with the firm for more than 25 years.

"They are good at decision-making and have been accepted by low- and mid-tier executives at the company," the source said, adding that both have an engineering background.

Mr Anat and Mr Sarit are already serving as members of the executive committee of the company.

The source said that before the replacements, Mr Siripoj had left without pay for three months due to health problems.

Mr Kittinut has been considering leaving the company for some time, as he was worried about his ability to handle tasks at the firm, the source said.

Mr Anat will be in charge of all nationwide management and commercial operations, including content and media business, the enterprise customer segment, as well as other supporting functions.

Mr Sarit will be responsible for managing networks, information technology, customer service management and other support operations.
