5G auction on 26GHz nets B11.5bn

About 11.5 billion baht was raised from the 26-gigahertz range auction, which lasted only 10 minutes.

It was the final spectrum put up for auction on Sunday, with the auction of the 700MHz and 2600MHz ranges held earlier in the day. 

A total of 27 licences were offered by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) in the 26GHz range. The reserve price was set at 423 million baht per licence with a bid increment of 22 million baht each round.

Advanced Info Service (AIS) through its subsidiary Advanced Wireless Network (AWN), True Move H Universal Communication (TUC), Total Access Communication (DTAC) through its subsidiary DTAC TriNet and TOT competed for the band.

The range’s auction, which began at 2.30pm, ended in the first round when the participants bid on only 26 out of 27 available licences. The hammer fell on a price of 455 million baht per licence.
