BOI’S INVESTMENT PROMOTION MEASURES IN SOUTHERN BORDER AREAS
1. Investment Promotion Measures in Southern Border Provinces covering 5 provinces: Narathiwat; Pattani; Yala; Satun; Songkhla in the districts of Jana, Natawee, Saba Yoi and Taypa.
2. Investment Promotion Measures in model cities in Southern Border Provinces covering 4 areas: Jana District, Songkhla; Nong Jik District, Pattani; Betong District, Yala; Su-ngai Kolok District, Narathiwat.
Significant conditions for the measures:
Existing projects located in the southern border areas or in other areas are all eligible for the promotion.
• must be existing, either BOI or non-BOI promoted projects.
• must realise investment of not less than 500,000 baht considering cost of buildings and machinery.
• must be BOI-eligible activities for promotion at present.
New projects
• must realise investment of not less than 500,000 baht.
• utilization of used machinery worth not over 10 million baht is allowed, and investment in new machinery must be not less than ¼ of the used machinery value.
• must be BOI-eligible activities for promotion at present.
Investment Promotion Measures in Southern Border Provinces
• Existing promoted projects will enjoy a 3-year corporate income tax (CIT) exemption.
• Newly promoted projects will enjoy an 8-year CIT exemption with a 5-year CIT deduction of 50%.
Investment Promotion Measures in model cities in Southern Border Provinces
• Existing promoted projects will enjoy a 5-year CIT exemption.
• Newly promoted projects will enjoy an 8-year CIT exemption with a 5-year CIT deduction of 50%.
Qualified projects must submit their application within the last working day of 2022.
