Gulf Energy Development Plc plans to donate 10,000 home isolation kits, worth 10 million baht, for Covid-19 patients to volunteer groups and patients registered through its relief programme website.

The care kits are scheduled for delivery to volunteer groups such as Zendai and the Mirror Foundation.

Patients can also request free kits at https://bit.ly/gulfcareform or by scanning a QR code.

The campaign is part of "Gulf Sparks Smiles", initiated to support various groups affected by the contagion.

Sitamon Ratanavadi, assistant manager of business planning at Gulf Energy, said following the surge in infections, many patients are following home isolation or community isolation protocols, or awaiting hospital beds.

Many still do not have proper medication or the equipment to monitor their symptoms at home.

"We put together Gulf Care isolation kits with a goal they should last at least 14 days. They contain an oxygen pulse fingertip oximeter, digital thermometer, paracetamol, green chiretta capsules, surgical masks and hand sanitiser, as well as recommendations for self-treatment at home," said Mr Sitamon.

"We wish every patient a rapid recovery and return to perfect health soon."

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Gulf has distributed 120,000 meal boxes to communities, field hospitals and isolation facilities; provided essential goods to 1,800 families in Bangkok; sponsored disinfecting equipment and basic medical equipment in Bangkok; and donated 10 million baht to the Faculty of Medicine at Ramathibodi Hospital to fund the procurement of medical equipment and expenses for the hospitel that accommodates Covid-19 patients.
