The Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), together with the Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association (Thai SUBCON) and Informa Markets Thailand, will hold during September 20-27, 2021, the first SUBCON Thailand Virtual Edition to serve as a business matching platform and promote the country’s parts industry and subcontractors.
The event, which will be the first full-scale online edition of SUBCON Thailand, in support of the new normal and social distancing required by the Covid-19 pandemic, aims to stimulate linkage between major manufacturers, parts makers and production technology providers, and help them address the problems currently affecting global supply chains.
SUBCON Thailand, which was first held in 2007, has become a must-attend event for manufacturing and procurement executives involved in supply chains for sectors ranging from automotive and electronics to agricultural machinery, medical devices, automation and robotics.
"The Covid crisis is affecting the global manufacturing sector in many ways, especially in terms of logistics and transportation systems, production rates, and production processes, resulting in shortages of parts and raw materials in highly interdependent sectors,” said Ms. Sonklin Ploymee, Deputy Secretary General of the BOI. “SUBCON Thailand aims to assist major manufacturers based in Thailand by providing another channel for procurement of raw materials and parts within the country while serving overseas buyers with the option of a sourcing destination with regional potential.”

Highlights of the event will include negotiations and business matching through an online platform (Online Business Matching Program) allowing buyers and industrial parts manufacturers to book appointments to negotiate business online. The platform also offers other types of business networking activities, including live streaming buyers and supplier presentations. There will also be a series of webinars on topics of interest such as: the electric vehicle sector which would be a key sector to respond to the national BCG economic model; use of innovative prototypes in positioning and navigation satellite systems (GNSS), and; investment trends in the CLMV region.

Participants will include domestic parts sellers and domestic and international buyers from countries such as Japan, China, France, Germany, India, and the US.
