Central Pattana Plc (CPN) is preparing to launch Central Chanthaburi as the largest and most comprehensive mixed-use project in the eastern region.

Scheduled to open on May 26, Central Chanthaburi follows the company's model for mixed-use projects in secondary cities to help boost the local economy.

The complex is expected to cater to the economic and tourism growth of the region and help showcase the highlights of Chanthaburi, create jobs, distribute income to the community, improve quality of life and well-being and provide green areas for locals, all while implementing strict safety and health measures, said Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, CPN's executive vice-president of marketing.

"Under our brand theme of 'Imagining better futures for all', the company will continue to develop new projects," he said. "This reflects on our commitment as a 'place maker' that creates spaces to improve quality of life.

"Central Chanthaburi is more than just a real estate project but is the next step of city development as it will generate growth for the city in all aspects. For the strategy, we focus on using the synergy of all involved parties, led by the retail business and joined by tenants for whom we provide end-to-end solutions. Central Chanthaburi will be home to a diverse range of leading brands which have great confidence in us."

Central Chanthaburi is expected to become a new landmark of the city, as it will be the largest and most comprehensive mixed-use project in the region consisting of a shopping mall, convention hall, a condominium and residential project, and a hotel, said Mr Nattakit.

The project uses a semi-outdoor design to maximise exposure to its four rai of green areas where visitors will find running tracks, bicycle parking areas, exercise areas, a social park, a family playground, a pet playground and cafes.

Moreover, Central Chanthaburi is the first project designed as a sports destination. It will have a multi-purpose area of more than 4,000 square metres.

Interior and exterior designs are inspired by Chanthaburi, with the main facades using a motif from the Chanthaboon mats and the interior space reflecting features of the famed pink stones and mapeed fruit.

There are also other initiatives dedicated to highlighting the stories of local heroes, community tourism and local products.

"Central Pattana is determined to create good things for a sustainable future," said Mr Nattakit.
