Cloud HM, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services, hosted a Leadership Summit under the theme; “Amazon Web Services Growth Secrets: How to Run a Multi-Billion Dollar Business Like AWS”, and showcased their cloud and AI technology by arranging Thailand’s 1st AWS DeepRacer Autonomous Car Race at The House on Sathorn, W Hotel Bangkok.

The event was arranged in anticipation of the new 1.9 trillion baht AWS Region opening soon in Thailand and was joined by executives from Thailand’s leading enterprises and state agencies.

Over the past decade, cloud technology has been one of the key technologies transforming businesses throughout the world. As organisations throughout the world better familiarise themselves with cloud technology, adoption has grown exponentially. Amazon Web Service (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon Inc. the ecommerce giant, was the pioneer and inventor of the modern-day cloud services. As the pioneer, AWS started writing the textbook on cloud over 16 years ago. The company ranks 1st in the world today for cloud and commands a staggering 34% of the global market share. Such large market share resulted in AWS contributing to 14% of Amazon Inc.’s total revenue and a whopping 75% of its operating profit in 2021. AWS offers cloud services that include compute, storage, database, network, devops, IoT, and security. It also offers advanced technology such as blockchain, big data, AI and machine learning that is expected to be exponential growth drivers for businesses. This is the reason why AWS enjoys much popularity with global firms such as General Electric (GE), Walt Disney, Sony, Unilever, Tata Motors, BMW and Samsung.

For Thailand, cloud technology has seen continuous adoption growth as more and more corporations use cloud to transform their operation while gaining scalability, stability, convenience, and security. Siam Commercial Bank’s Economic Intelligence Centre (SCB EIC) forecasts that the public cloud market in Thailand is likely to grow by at least 24% year on year, with a market size of approximately 26 billion baht in 2022. To capture this growth, AWS announced plans on October 18, 2022, to open an AWS Region in Bangkok called AWS Asia Pacific (Bangkok) with 3 availability zones. This is the third AWS Region in Southeast Asia. The first being in Singapore and the second in Indonesia. Cloud HM, a company under the Benchachinda Group, is the market leader in Thailand for cloud migration and strategy. The company operates under the concept of "Your Multi Cloud Expert," providing multi cloud services to over a 1,000 enterprises in Thailand and neighbouring countries. The company’s services include Multi Cloud Strategy & Migration, App Modernization, Cloud Native Tools, DevOps Consulting, Big Data, Backup & Disaster Recovery. These services are supplemented by connectivity services such as AWS DirectConnect, Azure ExpressRoute, and MPLS Private Link. To help companies and its employee cope with the magnitude of change in today’s world, Cloud HM also provides upskilling services to companies and its employees for cloud, devops and big data to ready them for the cloud age.

Cloud HM is an AWS Consulting Partner and was 1 out of 4 selected for the AWS Finalist Rising Star Award for 2022 out of a total of 5,000 partners across Southeast Asia. As AWS’ strategic partner in Thailand, Cloud HM and AWS share a common mission to enable businesses in Thailand to use the cloud to enhance competitiveness and help move the country towards the digital age.

“We are still in the very early stage of cloud adoption in Thailand. AWS opening its first AWS Region in Thailand highlights this fact. Many organisations have already migrated to the cloud, but a lot are still reluctant due to data centres being located outside the country, specifically government agencies. We believe upon opening of a local AWS Region in Thailand demand for AWS should far outpace supply. By supply, I don’t mean AWS infrastructure but cloud experts like Cloud HM that help onboard customers on to AWS. This is good news for the industry,” said Na-pajra Umpudh, Chief Executive Officer at Cloud HM.

In order to showcase the use of cloud technology, Cloud HM and AWS hosted the Leadership Summit titled, “Amazon Web Services Growth Secrets: How to Run a Multi-Billion Dollar Business Like AWS” on September 27, 2022, at The House on Sathorn – W Hotel. In the event, Cloud HM and AWS arranged the first ever AWS DeepRacer Autonomous Car Race in Thailand. Participants in the race were students from high school and universities in Bangkok. The AWS DeepRacer Autonomous Car was designed to help engineers learn and practice machine learning. Speakers from both AWS and Cloud HM took to the stage to talk about the cloud market and shared their views on technology. The first speaker to take the stage was Mr. Vatsun Thirapatarapong, Country Manager of Amazon Web Services (Thailand) who spoke under the topic of ‘Learning from Amazon: The Culture of Innovation.’ He shared Amazon’s culture and leadership principles such as the “Day 1” mentality and two-pizza rule.
