The board of directors of Energy Absolute Plc (EA) has appointed Supant Mongkolsuthree as a new director and Chatrapon Sripratum as the new chief executive officer, effective August 1.
Mr Supant replaces Chachawan Jiaravanon, who resigned from the board, while Mr Chatrapon succeeds Somchainuk Engtrakul, who previously served as acting CEO. However, Mr Somchainuk will continue to serve as the chairman of the board.
Chatrapon Sripratum
Mr Supant is a former chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and currently serves as chairman of Synnex (Thailand) Plc. Mr Chatrapon holds a degree in engineering from Chulalongkorn University and an MBA in finance. He has been with the company for over a decade and currently serves as CEO of Amita Technology (Thailand), an EA subsidiary, and chairman of Amita Technology (Taiwan). His achievements include leading EA into the world's first actual international carbon credit trading project under the Paris Agreement's Article 6.2, in collaboration with Thailand and Switzerland. This project is part of a voluntary greenhouse gas reduction initiative.
Vasu Klomkliang
Additionally, Vasu Klomkliang has been appointed as the chief financial officer. Mr Vasu has held executive positions at various financial institutions and, since joining EA, has been responsible for financial management, sourcing capital from both money and capital markets, and overseeing investments both domestically and internationally.
"As chairman of the board, I am confident that the new executive team, including the CEO and CFO, possess the knowledge and experience necessary to continue EA's mission in clean energy, batteries, electric vehicles, energy storage systems, carbon credit trading, and achieving net-zero emissions. They are well-equipped to lead the company toward sustainable growth according to our strategic plan," said Mr Somchainuk.
